FLOOD DAMAGE TO THREATENED ECOSYSTEMS

Using the 15cm from the 2011 flood event at Wilsons Promonotory Natioanl Park all rainforest was mapped and evaluated to assess the total rainforest area within the park and any flood damage that may have removed this unique and threatened ecosystem.

Using 15cm imagery much rainforest that had been mapped using smaller scale photography was not found when viewed in much finer detail. Furthermore, much of the rainforest was moderately to severly damaged by the 2011 flood event.
